Luxury jewelry store will close on KC’s Country Club Plaza this summer
An iconic luxury jewelry store is closing on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza.
Tiffany & Co., 301 Nichols Road, will be shutting its doors after 22 years on June 30, according to an employee. It is the KC area’s only location.
“Thank you for an incredible run and for allowing us to be a part of your journey - celebrating cherished moments in life,” an employee posted on Instagram.
Tiffany & Co. was founded in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young, who pioneered a new “American style.” In 1886, the company launched the engagement ring as it’s known today. Before then, diamond rings were set in bezels, but Tiffany & Co. rings lifted the stone off the band, according to its website.
Tiffany & Co. did not immediately respond to The Star’s inquiry on the reason for the closure. This news follows recent and upcoming openings at the Country Club Plaza, including Love Shack Fancy, Do Good Co. and Skims.
The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
