Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce’s steakhouse menu has Taylor Swift-inspired drink
Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ new restaurant — 1587 Prime — will soon open in Kansas City, and it appears the upcoming restaurant has at least one nod to the Chiefs tight end’s new fiancee, Taylor Swift.
In a new video shared by 1587 Thursday, the Chiefs players are sitting at a table, sampling menu items.
“This is the Alchemy?” Mahomes questions as an orange and cucumber-adorned drink is set on his table.
“Oh yeah,” Kelce exclaims in approval. “Let’s see it.”
The drink is doubtlessly a callback to a song of the same title Swift is thought to have penned about Kelce. Released on her 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” the song is filled with football references.
“So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut ‘em from the team. Ditch the clowns, get the crown, baby I’m the one to beat. … The greatest in the league, where’s the trophy?”
A shrimp cocktail and an old fashioned were also sampled in the brief video.
The restaurant opens Sept. 17 (also Mahomes’ 30th birthday) inside the Loews Hotel at 1500 Baltimore Ave.
Reservations to the public opened up last week and went quickly, prompting the restaurant to open an additional day and extend its hours starting Oct. 7. Reservations are released daily and booked 30 days in advance at 1587prime.com.
The concept is a partnership between the players and Noble 33, operator of Toca Madera, Casa Madera and Sparrow Italia.
A video shared earlier this month shows Mahomes and Kelce chowing down on wagyu and other dishes.
In the video, a still shot of the menu appears.
It includes A5 carpaccio (wagyu beef, pickled mushrooms, pine nuts, umami aioli and shaved black truffle), tuna tartare (truffle ponzu, avocado, chili oil, lime air, airy rice cracker), A5 Tajima wagyu beef, a steak flight, and an A5 wagyu burger.
For healthy-eaters, a 1587 chop salad is available (it includes beef salami, chickpeas, tomatoes, pepperoni, provolone, olives, pine nuts, artichokes and red wine vinaigrette).
Prices were not listed in the video.
Several celebrities and media personalities (including comedian Eric Stonestreet) have received VIP invites to the steakhouse via 1587 Prime-branded footballs signed in gold by Mahomes and Kelce.
“This is like the golden ticket,” comedian Adam Ray joked in a video on social media.
