Genesis Health Clubs announced Wednesday afternoon that it has acquired Onelife Fitness locations in Kansas City’s Power & Light and St. Louis’ Ballpark Village.

The acquisition of the clubs in key downtown areas also includes future clubs in Prairie Village and Kansas City’s Northland and sets the stage for future growth, the company said.

“Genesis is synonymous with fitness in Kansas City, but we’ve had a few areas that we haven’t been able to really serve yet, but this acquisition gets us into Power & Light, the Northlands, and Prairie Village, all in one fell swoop,” Genesis Health Clubs owner and president Rodney Steven II said in a news release.

“The members of this club will instantly get access to dozens of other clubs and hundreds of other classes, plus our expert certified trainers and instructors. It will be great for our members, too, with even more options and convenience in the area.”

Genesis Health Clubs currently operates 56 locations in six states, including more than 20 in the Kansas City area.

Former members of Onelife Fitness Clubs and the members of other Kansas City area Genesis clubs will be granted full access to the new Genesis Power & Light location and the Ballpark Village club in St. Louis.

The Ballpark Village location, the company’s first club in St. Louis, will act as an anchor for future locations.
