The Kansas City Chiefs holiday movie is getting an extended cut. Here’s how to watch it
Fans of the Chiefs-based Hallmark Christmas movie can soon see more — in an extended cut.
Hallmark says that two movies starring actor Tyler Hynes, including “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” will receive an extended cut. The new footage will add around 10 extra minutes to the 90-minute film.
The extended cut of “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” will premiere on the Hallmark Channel at 7 p.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 20. It will also be available to stream on Peacock for the first 72 hours after it airs on TV.
The movie, filmed in the Kansas City area this summer, follows a Kansas City Chiefs superfan, played by Hunter King, who is vying to win the team’s fan contest, run by Hynes’ character.
King plays Chiefs superfan Alana Higman, who tries to win the Fan of the Year Award as a gift to her family. First, Alana must prove herself a worthy fan to Derrick, the Chiefs’ director of fan engagement, played by Hynes. In true Hallmark fashion, sparks begin to fly between Alana and Derrick.
The movie features several Chiefs players: Mecole Hardman Jr., George Karlaftis and Trey Smith. Chiefs coach Andy Reid and former players Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Christian Okoye also appear.
Several more Chiefs references and cameos are sprinkled throughout the movie. Donna Kelce, Travis Kelce’s mother, makes an appearance. Gracie Hunt, Clark Hunt’s daughter, also has a role in the film.
