The Chiefs are making Christmas their own.

For the second straight year, the Chiefs will play on Christmas Day when they travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers next week. And they went all-in when approached about the Hallmark Christmas movie, “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”

Up next, the team will release a claymation video called “A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry.” The video will debut on the team’s YouTube Channel and its social-media channels at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24.

This video will include claymation versions of tight end Travis Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, defensive tackle Chris Jones, running back Isiah Pacheco, defensive end George Karlaftis, cornerback Trent McDuffie and coach Andy Reid.

The Chiefs said in a news release that those Chiefs “along with the delightfully unexpected bounce of a football save Christmas by bringing a busy family together around a Chiefs game, empowering all to believe in their dreams and the magic of the season.”

Lara Krug, chief media and marketing officer for the Chiefs, said the team wanted to give fans a holiday present.

“Christmas is such a magical time, and our team was looking for a way to deliver something special for all of Chiefs Kingdom before our Christmas Day game streaming worldwide on Netflix,” Krug said in a news release. “The Claymation style elicits a nostalgic feeling, and we think many people will be able to relate to some of the family scenes that are featured in the short. We are all very proud of this original program and look forward to our fans being able to enjoy a memorable Chiefs story on Christmas Eve.”

Fans can learn more about “A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry” at the team’s website.
