Linebacker Justin Houston didn’t practice with the Chiefs on Thursday because of a knee injury. He was a limited participant on Wednesday because of an illness.

Cornerback Phillip Gaines and inside linebacker Derrick Johnson also did not practice, according to the Chiefs injury report. Johnson was lost for the season with an Achilles injury suffered in last week’s game against the Raiders.

Defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches, who has a back injury, was listed as a full practice participant. Defensive lineman Kendall Reyes (wrist) and linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) were limited participants.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story gave the incorrect reason for Houston missing practice.
