Kansas City police investigate fatal shooting on South Benton Avenue
Kansas City police investigated a homicide Saturday in the 3400 block of South Benton Avenue.
Officers were called to a shooting in the area shortly after 2:30 p.m. and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The man was described as being in his 20s. Police have not yet released his name.

The death was the 63rd homicide in Kansas City this year. The metropolitan area has recorded 99 killings in 2016.
