Police identify man killed in shooting following wreck; subject of interest at-large
The man killed in a shooting near Denver and 23rd streets on Tuesday has been identified.
Cornelius Copeland, 37, was killed after running a stop sign and crashing into an SUV in the area, Kansas City police said. After exiting his truck, Copeland was involved in a confrontation with a bystander, who shot Copeland and then fled in a vehicle.
A subject of interest in the shooting remained at-large Wednesday evening, police said.
Copeland was pronounced dead at a hospital.
