Kansas City police are asking the public for information about a person and a car in the aftermath of a homicide at a convenience store on Bannister Road in Kansas City.

Officers responding to a reported shooting about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday found two shooting victims inside a crashed car in the 9600 block of Drury Avenue. One of the victims, a man in his mid-20s, died at a hospital. The other victim was listed in serious condition.

The shooting appears to have occurred at the Phillips 66 at Bannister Road and Drury Avenue.

A witness told police that immediately after the shooting, a silver vehicle sped away from the scene.

The fatal shooting is Kansas City’s 107th homicide of the year. So far in 2016, there have been 172 homicides in the Kansas City area.

Police on Tuesday afternoon released a photo of a person and a car and asked anyone with information about them to call the Kansas City Police Department Homicide Unit at 816-234- 5043 or call 816-474- TIPS (8477).
