One dead, another injured in shooting on Bannister Road in south KC
A man in his 20s had died and another person was seriously injured when they were shot at a Phillips 66 convenience store in south Kansas City.
Officers responding to a reported shooting about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday found a wrecked vehicle in the 9600 block of Drury Avenue. Inside the car were two shooting victims.
The victims were rushed to a hospital, where one of the victims, a man in his mid-20s, died. The other victim was listed in serious condition.
The shooting appears to have occurred at the Phillips 66 at Bannister Road and Drury Avenue.
A witness told police that immediately after the shooting, a silver vehicle sped away from the scene.
The fatal shooting is Kansas City’s 107th homicide of the year. So far in 2016, there have been 172 homicides in the Kansas City area.
