Leawood police investigate death of person found unconscious at shopping center
Police are investigating the death of a person who was found unconscious Saturday at a Leawood shopping center.
First responders were called at 4:35 a.m. to a medical emergency in the 12200 block of State line Road, according to the Leawood Police Department.
They found a male who was unconscious and started CPR, but the person died.
“As with any death outside of a doctor’s care, an investigation was begun to determine the cause of death,” Leawood police Capt. Brad Robbins said in a statement Sunday.
The cause of death was unknown, but there was no obvious safety risk to residents in the area, Robbins said.
