Kansas City police investigate body found in Brush Creek

Kansas City police are investigating a dead body found in Brush Creek in the 3200 block of Emanuel Cleaver Boulevard.

It is a African-American woman’s body. A relative of Inous Revels, 63, who has been missing for 30 days, arrived on the scene Monday afternoon.

Revels was last seen at her home in the 5100 block of Woodland, which is nearby. Detectives spoke to the relative. She said investigators told her it would take several hours for them to identify the body. The relative declined to comment further.

Damon Daniel, president of the AdHoc Group Against Crime, said he was summoned to the location after receiving a phone call shortly after the body was discovered. Daniel said the agency is assisting several families who have recently filed missing persons reports.
