It’s official: A Roasterie Cafe will open at 43rd & Main
A Roasterie Cafe is opening just north of the Country Club Plaza — and a block from a Starbucks.
In March, plans were submitted to the city showing a Roasterie drive-thru restaurant sharing the H&R Block tax office building at 4231 Main St. Officials with the Roasterie and H&R Block wouldn’t confirm the cafe plans at the time.
Now work has begun on the cafe for a scheduled late fall opening, in plenty of time for tax season, said H&R Block spokeswoman Susan Waldron. Roasterie officials referred calls to H&R Block.
The building will be expanded a bit on the north for a drive-thru and the site will be heavily landscaped along east 43rd Street, Main and in a median area of the parking lot.
A Starbucks, just up the street at 4101 Main St., is an especially popular consumer stop during morning rush hour, with lines that stretch around the building and sometimes out onto Main Street. It opened in mid-2006.
An Office Depot will separate the two coffee shops.
