Kansas City International Airport will get its third international route with Vacation Express launching new nonstop charter flights to the Dominican Republic.

Vacation Express will offer the charter flights between KCI and Punta Cana between Feb. 18 and Aug. 3, according to an announcement Monday.

Flights depart Kansas City on Fridays and return on Thursday as part of six-night packages offered by the Atlanta-based tour operator. An air travel only option is also available for people who already have a place to stay.

“The demand for air travel between Kansas City and the Caribbean reached an all-time high earlier this year when Punta Cana became the most popular Caribbean destination for Kansas City vacationers,” Kansas City Director of Aviation Pat Klein said in a release.

The weekly charter flight will be operated by Miami Air International and will aboard a Boeing 737-800 with 180 seats.

Vacation Express is one of the largest tour operators in the southeast United States.
