While in a huddle, Chiefs players applauded a military veteran being honored Sunday
When the CBS Sports broadcast returned from a commercial break Sunday during the Chiefs’ 31-0 win over the Raiders, viewers briefly saw a really cool moment.
It was in the third quarter. The Chiefs were leading 28-0 and had just forced the Raiders to punt.
The drive was starting at their own 14-yard line and the CBS camera was on the team huddle. But the players’ attention was on what was happening in the stands at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
A military veteran was being honored and the crowd of 73,584 was applauding.
So were the Chiefs players.
CBS Sports broadcaster Jim Nantz told viewers the Chiefs players were clapping for the veteran who was being recognized for service to the country.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a video clip of the cool moment (if you see one, let me know). But X user TheeFrankBooth shared these photos of the players applauding for the veteran.
