Given the excitement ahead of the release of Taylor Swift’s new record, “The Life of a Showgirl,” it should come as no surprise what dominated Google searches Friday.

Google said Swift, who is engaged to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was the top trending person in the world on Friday when her new record was released.

The cities with the most Google searches Friday were Nashville, which is where Swift moved as a teen to pursue a music career, and Kansas City, where she spends time with her fiancé, Kelce.

Those were the top cities in the world searching for Swift, not just in the United States, Google said.

In both Kansas and Missouri, more people searched for Swift than a weather update, Google said. Only four states and Washington, D.C., saw that unique search trend.

Four states, including Missouri and Kansas, had more searches for Taylor Swift than the weather, Google said.

Other notes of interest from Google:

  • “taylor swift listening party near me” was the top trending party search, and “release party” reached an all-time high
  • Taylor Swift was the top trending person searched with Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Stereogum and Billboard
