Patrick Mahomes’ trainer crushes Ben Roethlisberger over comment about Chiefs QB

The NFL earlier this week started revealing its top-100 players list, and there is certain to be a great debate over where the quarterbacks end up being ranked.

Fans love to have a GOAT discussion (Greatest Of All-Time) in all sports and nothing seems to spur an argument quite like quarterbacks.

Heck, even former quarterbacks sometimes talk about quarterbacks. That includes former Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger. On his Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast, he was asked if he would go with prime Aaron Rodgers or current Patrick Mahomes.

“Well, I would take Aaron in his prime over Patrick now,” Roethlisberger said per Yahoo Sports. “Yeah, I think Aaron Rodgers in his prime was one of the top few to ever do it — and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime. Patrick Mahomes is just entering out of his prime, I think.

“I think Patrick Mahomes is phenomenal. He’s going to go down as another arguable GOAT. You know what I mean? There’s only one GOAT, but there’s GOATs (who people argue for).”

Roethlisberger added he believes Mahomes in his prime might be as good as Rodgers in his prime. But it sounds like Roethlisberger believes Mahomes’ peak days are behind him.

Mahomes’ trainer Bobby Stroupe apparently caught wind of Roethlisberger’s comment and didn’t seem upset by Rodgers being ranked over Mahomes. But Roethlisberger saying Mahomes, who is 29 years old, is starting to enter out of his prime did get Stroupe’s goat.

Stroupe had a pointed remark for Roethlisberger in an X post.

Not everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben.” Stroupe wrote.

Zing!

Roethlisberger played in three Super Bowls, all before turning 30, winning a pair of titles with the Steelers. He was 3-6 in postseason games after his 30th birthday.
