Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was on his way to having a big 2024 season when he was sidelined following a freak injury.

Rice was tracking down a Chargers player who had intercepted a pass during a game in September when he was hit in the knee by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The lateral collateral ligament in Rice’s left knee required surgery and he missed the rest of the season.

Rice had been on pace to have more than 1,000 yards receiving. He had 24 catches with 288 receiving yards in the Chiefs’ first three games.

Earlier this month, Rice told Muscle and Fitness magazine that his knee was great.

“I’ve focused on mobility and balancing, incorporating kettlebells and lighter weights for squats,” Rice said. “I didn’t even realize that I was enhancing my range of motion.”

On Tuesday, Rice shared a short video to his Instagram story that showed only his legs. There wasn’t a brace or wrap on his knee.

The soundtrack for the video was “Back at it” by Gunna, a sign that Rice is already into his offseason workouts.

Rice later shared a video of his workout and he seemed to be moving well.
