Here’s what Swifties who are Eagles fans said about Philly player’s hoodie that mocked them

Philadelphia celebrated its Super Bowl LIX championship team on Friday, and the Chiefs were still on the minds of many people there.

For instance, fans cooked a pig and made it look like Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

That was a tame reference to Mahomes. Someone also hung a Kermit the Frog doll in a Mahomes shirt. Because of his voice, Mahomes has been likened to Kermit.

Unlike Bills fans who pulled a similar stunt last fall, the one in Philly included a noose.

Then there was the choice of attire from Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Earlier in the week, Gardner-Johnson posted on social media that Kelce should have stayed with his old girlfriend rather than date superstar singer Taylor Swift.

Swifties responded by leaving bad reviews for a restaurant owned by Gardner-Johnson’s mother, Fox 29 in Philadelphia reported. However, that restaurant closed last month, that news station reported, before the bad reviews were posted.

Gardner-Johnson took a shot at Swifties on Friday with a message on his hoodie that at best was sophomoric and at worst misogynistic. I’m linking to it, but just know that it includes LIX but it’s pronounced “licks.”

I was curious what Eagles fans who are Swifties thought of Gardner-Johnson’s message for them. Here is what they were saying on X.

“As a Swiftie and an Eagles fan - just ignore CJGJ,” one shared. “He’s known for being a fool

This is what another shared: “Eagles fan, Swiftie, and pro-female here! Thank you for not saying his name. He’s an embarrassment to this city, team, and I hope people across Philly reject his actions. He does not represent me or the team I’m proud of.”

Another wrote: “this is getting exhausting. idk how many times i can explain myself. i didn’t tell him to put this shirt on. i don’t have any say in how fans or players are gonna act. i am just a fan of a team and i have been a fan of this team my whole life. i have also been a swiftie my whole life. idk why i have to pick a side. i love taylor swift with my whole heart. cjgj is being a petty loser. taylor swift should never get booed. go birds.”

This was the (edited) response from another: “As a swiftie and an Eagles fan, CJ can go (bleep) himself”

One noted the bad restaurant reviews left by her fellow Taylor Swift fans: “As a swiftie, a bunch of the fandom trashed his mothers business. It’s deserved

Another had this to say: “let me be clear: this is not me defending what cjgj said: that ... was rude & unnecessary. but certain swifties have a tendency to take defending taylor too far to the point that their own actions are indefensible”

A father of a Taylor Swift fan shared this:
