Patrick Mahomes’ voice has been light-hearted fodder for teammates and opposing players, who think he sounds like Kermit the Frog.

But some Bills fans took that to a much darker place ahead of Buffalo’s 30-21 home victory over the Chiefs in November. While tailgating, someone hung an effigy of a Kermit the Frog doll in a red No. 15 jersey and with hair that resembled Mahomes.

Although there wasn’t a noose around the neck of the doll, the symbolism for some was a lynching because Mahomes is biracial. His father is Black.

Others laughed it off or said it was just a Muppet, but Mahomes’ wife Brittany was disturbed by the photo.

Brittany Mahomes, KC Current co-owner, shared a photo of the hanging effigy following the Chiefs’ 32-29 win over the Bills in the AFC Championship Game.

“Do we remember this Buffalo?” she wrote in an Instagram story. “Absolutely disgusting ... so as you go home tonight I pray we become better people.”
