Chiefs’ DeAndre Hopkins got emotional talking about special coat he’ll wear to Super Bowl

Chiefs players were bombarded with questions Monday night at the Caesars Superdome during the Super Bowl LIX Opening Night media event.

Some of those queries came from international journalists, others from kid reporters, and a few current or former NFL players were behind the microphone. That included Brandon Marshall, Jameis Winston and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

Marshall’s line of questioning to Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins provided one of the most touching moments of the night. Because player pregame fashion is a big deal these days, Marshall wanted to know what Hopkins planned to wear ahead of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hopkins, who is in his 12th NFL season, got emotional while talking about a special jacket.

“My dad died in 1992 and he left me a couple things, and one of the things that he left me was a mink jacket,” Hopkins said. “So I always said I will wear that mink jacket to my wedding or to the Super Bowl, whichever one happens first. So obviously I’m not married, so I’m gonna wear my daddy’s mink jacket.”

Marshall then came over and gave Hopkins a hug.

This was a cool moment from Monday night.
