Preparing an NFL team for a road game is a lot of work, perhaps more than fans realize.

The Chiefs’ equipment director is Allen Wright, and the team has four assistant equipment managers: Chris Shropshire, Cale Kirby, Jay White and Holt McKenney. Additionally, there are two equipment assistants: Niko Barber and Logan Love.

That might seem to some like an excessive number of people to handle the team’s equipment, but the Chiefs bring a lot with them on the road.

Kirby showed off the (at least) 32 trunks the Chiefs travel with in a video shared by the team. Those trunks carry jerseys, helmets, toiletries, winter gear and ... candy. The latter is in the aptly named “Sugar Creek” trunk.

All the trunks have a name and we got to see what the Chiefs put in the one labeled, “Hooks.” The last time fans saw it, Shropshire stepped out of it wearing an elf costume and holding a game ball for Santa Claus (aka coach Andy Reid).

That trunk usually holds communication equipment.

This video is an interesting look at what the Chiefs need for each game.

@chiefs Ever wonder how many trunks the Chiefs travel with and what their names are? #chiefs #equipment #travel ♬ original sound - Chiefs
