They will gather again one day at Kauffman Stadium. It may happen in three years. Or it might be eight years from now.

But make no mistake, the players who were on the Royals’ 2015 World Series championship team will be honored in the future at Kauffman Stadium.

The last time they were all together was at Union Station, where Jonny Gomes delivered an epic speech (“We beat that guy too!”).

But on New Year’s Eve, many of those players from the 2015 championship team gathered to watch former Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer marry his longtime girlfriend Kacie McDonnell, the former KSHB (Ch. 41) reporter.

Among Hosmer’s groomsmen were his former Royals teammates Mike Moustakas and Jarrod Dyson.

Former pitcher Chris Young, who is the Texas Rangers general manager, and his wife posed for a picture with Hosmer and McDonnell.

KCTV’s Jared Koller shared photos that showed just how many former Royals players, including some not on that 2015 team, were in attendance on Hosmer’s blessed day.

That includes Alex Gordon, Greg Holland, Wade Davis, Luke Hochevar, Johnny Giavotella, Chris Getz, Jason Vargas and Jason Kendall.

Take note that Dyson is showing off his World Series ring in one of the group photos.
