After beating the Los Angles Charges last week to clinch the AFC West division title, the Chiefs now turn their attention to securing the AFC’s No. 1 postseason seed.
The Chiefs, 12-1, beat the Chargers 19-17 on Sunday Night Football after their game-winning field goal doinked in off the left upright.
The win gave the chiefs their ninth straight division title. Only the New England Patriots, with 11 from 2009-19 have won more consecutive division championships. The Chiefs have also now won an NFL-record 15 straight games by one score (eight points or fewer).
The 3-10 Browns, on the other hand, were eliminated from playoff contention with last week’s 27-14 loss at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Chiefs have qualified for the playoffs in 10 straight seasons, and they’ve been the AFC’s top seed three times in that stretch: 2018, 2020 and 2022. The 2022 team won the Super Bowl.
