Chiefs win Super Bowl, so KC gets another parade: See timing, route details and map
Kansas City, get ready to celebrate your Chiefs.
Sunday night marks the team’s third Super Bowl victory in five years. After the game, Chiefs players immediately said they can’t wait for another Super Bowl parade marching through the streets of Kansas City.
Here’s what to know about the timing and route of the parade.
When will the Super Bowl parade be held in Kansas City?
The Kansas City Sports Commission confirmed Sunday night that the parade will be Wednesday, which aligns with previous Kansas City championship celebrations.
That means this year’s celebration will coincide with not one, but two holidays: Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday.
The event will begin at 11 a.m., an hour earlier than last year’s celebration.
What will the parade route be?
The parade route will be similar to past years. However, this year the route will not go through City Market.
The two-mile long parade will begin on Grand Boulevard at Sixth Street and head south to Pershing Road.
It will turn west on Pershing Road and head to Union Station for the victory rally.
The victory rally stage will be in front of Union Station, with the National WWI Museum and Memorial hosting viewing opportunities on its north lawn.
The victory rally is scheduled to start about 12:45 p.m., shortly after the parade ends.
The Kansas City Streetcar will be in operation before the parade starts. Officials hope to reopen it in the evening.
