Here are the stops as Kansas City Chiefs take Super Bowl Lombardi trophy on tour
The Chiefs’ Lombardi Trophy for winning Super Bowl LVII is going on a summer tour, starting with a stop in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday.
Ten stops of the Chiefs Champions Tour have been announced. It’s the first time the Chiefs have celebrated their Super Bowl victory regionally. Because of restrictions during COVID-19, there wasn’t a tour after winning Super Bowl LIV.
Besides the trophy, stops could also include appearances by Chiefs cheerleaders, the Rumble drum line, KC Wolf and the “Kingdom Cruiser” bus.
More stops could be added, according to the Chiefs.
After Omaha, the tour hits the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City on June 27 and 28. The trophy will be on display at the Rotunda from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will need to enter the Capitol through the main security entrance (south side) where they will then follow verbal and posted directions to the trophy viewing area.
“We are proud of the team here that helped put together this summer-long trip that invites the Kingdom to celebrate with us,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan said.
The Royals’ World Series trophy for 2015 made a similar tour, traveling more than 3,500 miles before the 2016 season.
