Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been nominated for pair of ESPY Awards

The last time Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the NFL MVP award, he followed it up with a pair of ESPY Awards.

In 2019, Mahomes won the trophies at ESPN’s annual award show for Best NFL Player and Best Male Athlete.

Mahomes won the NFL MVP award earlier this year and once again he’s up for a pair of ESPY Awards. The nominees were revealed Wednesday by the network.

The others in the running for Best Athlete, Men’s Sports are Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and Argentina soccer star Lionel Messi.

Mahomes is up against 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson in the Best NFL Player category.

The Chiefs are a nominee for Best Team. The others are: the Denver Nuggets, Georgia Bulldogs football team, Las Vegas Aces, LSU Tigers women’s basketball team, the Oklahoma Sooners softball team and Las Vegas Golden Knights.

The ESPY Awards Show is July 12 at 7 p.m. Fans can vote for the nominees at ESPN.com/ESPYS.
