Kansas City’s Union Station to sell ‘Sea of Red’ posters from Chiefs rally

Union Station is planning to sell limited-edition posters featuring the “Sea of Red” that is expected to take over Kansas City during Wednesday’s Chiefs parade and victory rally, officials said.

A Facebook post on Union Station’s page encouraged fans to wear red jerseys or shirts over winter coats, and to sport red stocking caps. The more people dress in red, the more impressive will be the view of the crowd when photographed, the post said.

The iconic image will be shot from high atop Union Station by photographer Roy Inman.

Thousands of rally-goers will have to contend with temperatures in the 20s, snow and wind.

The parade starts at 11:30 a.m. at Sixth Street and will proceed down Grand Boulevard to Pershing Road, ending at Union Station. A rally featuring the Super Bowl champions will start there at 1:30 p.m.

Online orders for the “Sea of Red” posters will start Wednesday evening and in-person sales will begin Thursday afternoon.

Sales will support ongoing preservation efforts at Union Station.
