The World Cup is almost over. Here are 5 Kansas City spots to watch the final
FIFA’s Fan Festival near downtown Kansas City is in the rearview, but there are still one major match in the 2026 World Cup. For those still looking to gather around and watch with the community, options remain for the conclusion of the biggest global soccer tournament so far.
Free watch parties are still planned for the World Cup final 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, between defending champion and KC base camp team Argentina and Spain. Here’s where you can go to get one last bit of international soccer fever.
Sporting Park
Sporting KC’s final Soccer Capital Summer will showcase the World Cup final on its large screen inside the outdoor plaza or from Sporting KC’s scoreboard from the west end of the stadium seating.
Sporting Park will open its gates at noon, and visitors can hear a set from twin sister DJ Duo Coco & Breezy before the match kicks off at 2 p.m. Other family-friendly activities, such as a soccer challenge zone and photo booths, are available throughout the event until it closes at 6 p.m.
The watch party is free to attend, but you do have to reserve a ticket in advance. Those are available online.
Parking can be bought on SeatGeek for $15 for Sporting KC season-ticket members and $20 for the public. Parking passes bought on the day of the event will be $25.
Soccer in the City at KC Live!
The Power & Light District became the home party for Argentine fans after Fan Fest ended, and you can expect them to pack KC Live! for the final.
Soccer in the City inside the KC Live! Block will be open Sunday. It’s free for all to attend, but admission is subject to the venue’s capacity. A special live taping of KC-area soccer podcast “Heart & Goal” will take place at 12:30 p.m.
If the venue reaches the 8,000 capacity, an overflow section will be located on Walnut Street in between 13th and 14th streets.
Current Landing
You can watch the final match on the Berkley Riverfront.
Current Landing has been hosting watch parties for select games during the tournament, and it’ll be open for the 2 p.m. match Sunday. Visitors can watch the game on a 40-foot screen underneath the Kansas City sunset.
While it’s free, you do have to register for tickets in advance. Tickets are available online. Food ticket upgrades are available for $35, and food and drink ticket upgrades are available for $65.
Theatre in the Park
The Johnson County Parks & Recreation District’s final free watch party brings visitors around its large LED screen inside its Theatre in the Park, 7710 Renner Road in Shawnee.
Parking gates for the parties open at 12:30 p.m., and the theater opens at 1 p.m. Local food trucks will be on site, along with a space for kids to play soccer and do hands-on art activities.
Attending guests can bring the following inside:
- One clear plastic water bottle per person
- Chairs
- Blankets and tarps
- Wagons
- Umbrellas
- Clear bags smaller than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches, or clutch bags and purses 5 inches by 7 inches or smaller
Outside food and beverage, glass or metal bottles, noisemakers and animals are some of what JCPRD says to leave at home.
It’s free to attend, but you have to register for a ticket in advance. You can claim up to four tickets per registration by filling out an online form.
Soccer Summer Celebration at Prairiefire
The entertainment district in Overland Park hosts one final watch party to commemorate the final game of the World Cup.
The street fair is open from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at 5661 W. 135th St., where you can interact with animals from the petting zoo at Deanna Rose’s Children’s Farmstead and Sporting KC’s mascot, Blue the Dog.
You can also play a game of foot darts or get your face painted before heading into one of the nearby restaurants to watch the match.
The street fair is free to attend, but you must register in advance online.
