No Fan Fest, no problem: 4 watch parties showing US, Mexico World Cup games

Feels a little weird not having the FIFA Fan Fest open, doesn’t it?

The World Cup-centered festival is closed until Friday, July 3, the date of the next match played at Arrowhead Stadium. In the meantime, the round of 32 rolls on, including key matches featuring Mexico and the United States.

Both fanbases have swarmed the free festival on their match days during the group stages, but with it being closed Tuesday, June 30, for Mexico’s match against Ecuador and Wednesday, July 1, for the U.S.’s match against Bosnia & Herzegovina, fans of both countries will have to look elsewhere to watch together.

Plenty of bars will be open, but if you’re looking for a Fan Fest-like atmosphere, these spots around Kansas City will be open for the games.

KC Live!

The Power & Light District’s entertainment block had watch parties scheduled for June 30 and July 1. They just didn’t know it’d be featuring two countries whose fans have crowded KC Live! for every game they’ve played.

Soccer in the City inside the KC Live! Block is open for Mexico’s game at 8 p.m. Tuesday and the USA’s game at 7 p.m. Wednesday. It’s free for all to attend, but admission is subject to the venue’s capacity.

Fans packed into KC Live! in Kansas City’s Power and Light District on June 12, 2026, to watch the U.S. square off against Paraguay in the fourth match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The U.S. came out on top, defeating Paraguay 4-1.

It will reach capacity, as it has for each of the group stage matches for both teams, so be prepared to arrive early.

Sporting Park

Sporting KC turned its stadium into a gathering space called Soccer Capital Summer, and it’s announced two additional watch parties for the upcoming matches.

Sporting Park will open its gates at 6 p.m. Tuesday and be followed by a DJ set from FK Menace before the 8 p.m. game. The plaza opens at 5 p.m. Wednesday, where local country artist Logan Mize will perform before the 7 p.m. game.

Fans can watch the games on a large screen at the outdoor plaza or on Sporting KC’s scoreboard from the West end of the stadium seating.

Both match watch parties are free to attend, but you do have to reserve a ticket in advance. Those are available online. Parking can be bought on SeatGeek for $15 for season-ticket members and $20 for the public. Parking passes bought on the day of the event will be $25.

Rock Island Bridge

The top deck at the new Rock Island Bridge will broadcast Mexico’s game on the big screen Tuesday

Fans can head to the outdoor entertainment venue to watch the match for free at its American Royal Hall, which features 11 televisions and room to cheer under the covered space.

The bridge opens at 11 a.m. and will close after the end of the match.

Theatre in the Park

The Johnson County Parks & Recreation District added a free watch party for the U.S. on its large LED screen inside its Theatre in the Park, 7710 Renner Road in Shawnee.

Parking gates for the party open at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the theater opens at 6 p.m. Visitors will have to register for a ticket, which will show up in your email.
