FIFA World Cup

New ticket lottery is open for World Cup games in KC. How much does it cost?

The Random Selection Draw lottery is now open for fans looking to attend any of the matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the six in Kansas City.

Signup for the draw takes place from now to Tuesday, Jan. 13, where interested fans will need to sign in with or create their FIFA ID, enter the draw and apply for tickets to the specific matches. If your ticket application is successful, you will receive an email at the address associated with your FIFA ID between Feb. 2-5, 2026.

At that time, you will also automatically purchase the tickets at the price you selected, and your payment card will be automatically charged if you receive an email that your application is successful, according to FIFA.

The city will see Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Curaçao, the Netherlands and Tunisia for four group-stage matches, and then it’ll see more teams make their way to Kansas City during the knockout rounds. There’s a slim chance Kansas City could host a potential Portugal vs. Argentina quarterfinal, which could mark the last time superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi face off against each other on the pitch.

Prices shown during the Random Selection Draw lottery are much higher than what was reported in November. Here’s how much each game costs at Kansas City Stadium as of Friday, Dec. 12.

Prices of FIFA World Cup match tickets in Kansas City

Fans interested in applying can select Category 1, 2 or 3 tickets to purchase if they’re approved. Each category comes at a different price and will price you in a seat in the category you choose, according to the seating chart. No Category 4 seats were available.
