Mizzou basketball recruiting: Four-star target off the board, but new offer out

Little Rock Christian Academy forward JJ Andrews announced his commitment to Arkansas on Thursday evening, choosing the Razorbacks over LSU and Mizzou.

The No. 42 overall prospect in the class of 2026’s decision to not join the Tigers marked the third player offered to not choose the program in the recruiting class, per 247Sports.

Andrews joins Overtime Elite forward Moustapha Diop and John Burroughs forward Sheek Pearson as offered recruits to not choose Mizzou. Diop committed to Georgia Tech, while Pearson picked Marquette.

Although MU struck out on Andrews, the Tigers still have official visits scheduled with class of 2026 five-star forward Toni Bryant on Sept. 6 and four-star forward Aidan Chronister on Sept. 20.

Mizzou offers scholarship to 4-star Malachi Jordan

Mizzou assistant coach Steve Wright has already made an impact toward the future of the program since being hired April 28.

Christian Community forward Malachi Jordan announced that he received a scholarship offer from the Tigers on Monday.

“After a great conversation with coach Steve Wright, I am blessed and honored to say that I have received an offer from the Missouri Tigers,” Jordan wrote in a post on X.

The 6-5 White House, Tennessee, product marks the seventh offer Mizzou has made for the class of 2027, per 247Sports.

Jordan joins Norcross guard Nasir Anderson, Logan-Rogersville guard Chase Branham, Milwaukee Juneau guard Dooney Johnson, Webster Groves guard Scottie Adkinson, Vashon guard Jimmy McKinney III and Francis Joseph Reitz forward Jaylan Mitchell.

Jordan is currently the No. 18 overall prospect in the class of 2027 and has also fielded offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, Arizona State and Tennessee State, according to 247Sports.
