The Star and other media outlets were allowed to sample some of the featured concessions that will be available throughout the stadium this season.
Here’s a rundown on what KU Athletics showcased in the food tasting.
“We have our 21-inch Philly sandwich, one-pound Bavarian pretzel, we have our chicken tenders that are sauced in local Johnny’s Tavern sauce,” KU hospitality general manager Ryan Duncan told The Star. “And then we have our one-pound cheeseburger that’s served on a King’s Hawaiian Bun. (Plus) we have our loaded 64-ounce chicken tinga nacho.”

Not mentioned was an Italian sub that was also available for sampling. Duncan noted that the Philly cheesesteak was his favorite, and that was the consensus among media members who tried all the food.
A personal favorite among Star employees was the chicken tinga nachos, which were filled with flavor and served in a small bucket.
While not available for sampling, there were also two curated Jayhawk cocktails on display.
The Jayhawks will face off against Fresno State on Saturday to open the season and fans will get their first chance to try all the concessions mentioned.
