See which Kansas Jayhawks football players garnered All-Big 12 honors for 2024
Kansas football was well-represented as Big 12 conference postseason honors were announced on Wednesday for the 2024 season.
Seven KU players made first- or second-team All-Big 12. The league’s coaches voted for the teams.
Three Kansas players were named to the All-Big 12 First Team: Jared Casey was nominated as a fullback, while Cobee Bryant and Mello Dotson represent the Jayhawks’ secondary as first-team cornerbacks.
Bryant’s selection — which was unanimous — marks his third straight season on the all-conference first team. The senior had 37 tackles and four interceptions in 12 games played.
Dotson also had a remarkable season. He had 49 tackles, five interceptions and one forced fumble over 12 games. He also earned honorable mention for the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award.
Several other KU players garnered second-team honors: offensive linemen Logan Brown, Michael Ford Jr. and Bryce Foster.
KU defensive end Dean Miller was the lone defensive player on the All-Big 12 second team, while Brown was honorable mention for Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.
The Jayhawks also had four honorable mention selections in running back Devin Neal, offensive lineman Bryce Cabeldue, defensive end Jereme Robinson and linebacker JB Brown.
Neal not making the first or second team was a surprise to many. KU’s all-time leading rusher had a fantastic final season of college.
He rushed for 1,226 yards on 219 carries (5.8 yards per carry) with 16 rushing touchdowns. He had 24 catches for 254 yards and a touchdown.
Finally, KU quarterback Jalon Daniels becomes the first Jayhawk selected as the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
