Kansas State bolsters offensive line with two new transfers from prominent teams
Reinforcements are on the way for Kansas State’s offensive line.
The Wildcats have added a pair of new transfers who will be expected to compete for playing time right away on the front five next season.
They both come to Manhattan from prominent football teams.
JB Nelson, a 6-foot-5 and 326-pound blocker from Penn State, is on his way to the Wildcats as a senior. He played in 31 games with the Nittany Lions, including all 16 last season. He helped pave the way for Penn State’s offense to put up impressive numbers as the Big Ten team advanced to the College Football Playoff.
In 2023, he earned an honorable mention on the All-Big Ten team.
Terrence Enos, a 6-foot-5 and 317-pound blocker from Pitt, is the other new member of K-State’s offensive line. He entered the transfer portal earlier this month and chose the Wildcats over interest from Arkansas State, Ball State, Buffalo, Kent State, Southern Mississippi, Western Michigan and Western Kentucky.
K-State coaches decided to make offensive line a priority during the spring transfer window.
The Wildcats will look different up front next season. Not only is Brian Lepak taking over for Conor Riley as offensive line coach, but the position is welcoming in four transfers. Enos and Nelson will join winter transfers Amos Talalele and George Fitzpatrick, whom are already on campus.
Taylor Poitier and Sam Hecht both return with starting experience and Andrew Leingang is expected to take on a larger role next season.
But they will have extra help when K-State football practice resumes in the summer.
