K-State’s Marques Sigle lands in 5th round of 2025 NFL Draft. Here’s his new team
Another Kansas State football player has found a home in the NFL.
Marques Sigle, a 5-foot-11 defensive back who spent the past two seasons making tackles for the Wildcats, was a fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. The San Francisco 49ers took him with the No. 160 overall pick.
There was no guarantee that Sigle would hear his name called this weekend. Most mock drafts had him pegged as a late-round selection or a priority free agent. But he blew those expectations out of the water and didn’t have to wait long into Saturday before a team called his name.
Sigle put himself on the NFL radar by running the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Pairing that with many seasons of strong production at both North Dakota State and K-State made him an option for several professional teams that require help in their secondary.
Sigle is coming off a senior season with the Wildcats in which he made 60 tackles and grabbed three interceptions. As a junior, he had 63 tackles and he also broke up nine passes.
His selection means the Wildcats will produce at least three NFL Draft picks this year.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Jacob Parrish in the third round on Friday night. Then running back DJ Giddens went in the fifth round to the Indianapolis Colts earlier on Saturday.
Under head coach Chris Klieman, K-State has now seen 13 players get selected in the NFL Draft since 2021.
