Here’s everything you need to know about the Kansas State football schedule in 2025
Kansas State football fans can start making plans for the 2025 season.
The Big 12 unveiled full football schedules for every team in the conference on Tuesday, including the Wildcats.
Here are a few things that stand out about the schedule that Chris Klieman’s team will play in the upcoming season:
Tricky start for the Wildcats
K-State will begin the season with a high-profile conference game against Iowa State that will be played in Ireland.
The Wildcats moved the game away from home — and up in the schedule — for a unique football experience and a big viewing audience in Week 0.
But the game will come with challenges, such as preparing for a game on August 23 and playing another game the following week at Bill Snyder Family Stadium against North Dakota.
Making things even trickier is that Army is next up on the schedule after that. The Wildcats will have to prepare for a triple-option offense after starting the season in a foreign country.
K-State will only play on Saturdays
You can usually count on the Wildcats playing a few games on Thursday or Friday each season. It happened last year when they hosted Arizona on a Friday night. They have also played Oklahoma State on Thursdays and Fridays in the past.
But all 12 of K-State’s games will be played on a Saturday this coming fall.
Six home games, five road games and one neutral game. Fans can tailgate like usual before all of them.
Only one back-to-back road trip
K-State won’t have to deal with any extended road trips next season. The Wildcats will only play back-to-back road games once all season, and it won’t happen until November when they travel to Oklahoma State on Nov. 15 and Utah the following week on Nov. 22.
That could be good news for K-State as it looks to build momentum early on in the season.
But Chris Klieman probably would have liked to get more than one extended home stand on the schedule. K-State will only play consecutive home games once all season, early on against North Dakota and Army.
K-State will play Colorado on senior day
The Wildcats won’t finish the season by playing a rivalry game in 2025.
K-State typically plays Iowa State or Kansas at the end of its schedule, but that won’t be the case this season. The Wildcats will open the season against Iowa State and travel to Kansas on Oct. 25.
Colorado will serve as K-State’s new opponent on senior day. The Buffaloes will visit Manhattan on Nov. 29 in the final game of the regular season for both teams. Colorado seems like a fun replacement. K-State beat Colorado 31-28 in an entertaining game last year in Boulder.
