Wichita has been good to the Kansas State football team this week.

The Wildcats picked up their second commitment in three days from a recruit who resides within the city limits when Wesley Fair announced his intentions to play for Chris Klieman on Wednesday.

Fair is a 6-foot-2 and 185-pound athlete from Collegiate who projects to play safety at the college level.

He held scholarship offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Colorado State and Louisiana Tech. He was also recruited by Harvard. But he chose K-State over all of them.

Securing the services of a three-star recruit who resides within the Sunflower State is always a big recruiting victory for the Wildcats, but this pledge comes with extra meaning because it continues a recent wave of positive momentum.

Earlier this week, K-State gained a commitment from one of the other top high school football recruits in Wichita when Will Anciaux pledged his services to the Wildcats.

Anciaux is a 6-foot-6 and 225-pound tight end from Kapaun Mt. Carmel. He chose K-State over California, Iowa State, Kansas, Memphis, Michigan State, Minnesota and Nebraska.

It hasn’t always been easy for Klieman to convince the most talented recruits from within the state to stay home for college, but the Wildcats are beginning to change that narrative during this recruiting cycle.

Anciaux and Fair join Piper offensive Camden Beene as the first three member of Kansas State’s 2023 recruiting class.
