One of the top high school football recruits in Wichita has decided to remain close to home as a college player.

Will Anciaux, a 6-foot-6 and 225-pound tight end from Kapaun Mt. Carmel, intends to enroll at Kansas State and play for Chris Klieman as a member of the Wildcats’ 2023 recruiting class.

Anciaux announced his commitment on Sunday night with a video on social media.

Landing an in-state product like Anciaux will be viewed as a big recruiting victory for the Wildcats. Not only does the three-star prospect have tantalizing upside as a college player, he also had many other suitors.

Anciaux chose K-State over California, Iowa State, Kansas, Memphis, Michigan State, Minnesota and Nebraska.

It hasn’t always been easy for Klieman to convince the most talented recruits in the Sunflower State to stay home for college, but the Wildcats identified Anciaux early on and made an impression that helped them rise above other schools. They were the first school that offered him a scholarship, all the way back in 2020.

His recruitment came down to K-State and Iowa State, with the Wildcats edging out the Cyclones.

Anciaux joins Piper offensive lineman Camden Beebe as the second member of K-State’s 2023 recruiting class.
