No foolin’: KC Mavericks’ next home game at Cable Dahmer Arena is April 1 (Friday)
After resuming their season in Allen, Texas on Wednesday, the Kansas City Mavericks return home to Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence for a Friday game on April Fool’s Day.
Here is what is going on with the Mavs hockey team this week.
Trip to Texas
After more than a week off since their last game, a 5-4 win over the Rapid City Rush on March 20, the Mavericks (29-30-1) travel to Allen, Texas on Wednesday to face off against the Allen Americans.
Next home game
The next Mavericks home game is Friday, and it’s also against the Allen Americans. Kids wearing their youth sports gear can get one free ticket at the arena box office.
There’s the Beef!
In honor of Kansas City being the heart of barbecue, the Mavericks are hosting a “KC Beefs Night” on Saturday, presented by Red Top Farms.
The Mavericks wear (and later auction off) special “KC Beefs” jerseys for the game against the Wichita Thunder, which starts at 7:05 p.m. at Cable Dahmer Arena.
This season, according to a Mavericks news release, Red Top Farms will donate 300 pounds of meat to Harvesters for each Mavericks goal scored at home.
