Here is what is going on with the Kansas City Mavericks ECHL hockey team this week.

Game recaps

The Mavericks traveled to Rapid City, South Dakota last weekend to take on the Rapid City Rush. They left with a win and two losses.

On Friday, the Mavericks fell 5-4 to the Rush. On Saturday, they lost 3-2 in overtime.

But on Sunday, the Mavs beat the Rush 5-4. Forward Darik Angeli scored four goals, registering his second hat trick of the season.

HopeKids skate

On Wednesday, the Mavericks will be hosting children from the Hope Kids organization for a skate with the team at Cable Dahmer Arena, the club’s home ice in Independence.

HopeKids “provides ongoing events, activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition.”

Upcoming games

The Mavericks travel to Allen Texas on March 30 to face off against the Allen Americans. The Mavs’ next home game is April 1 against Allen at Cable Dahmer Arena.
