KC Mavericks update: Packed hockey schedule includes bobblehead giveaway on ’80s Night

Here is what is going on with the Kansas City Mavericks minor-league hockey team this week.

The Mavericks are 22-22-2 after a win and two losses last week in the Lone Star State.

Game recaps

The Mavericks played the Allen Americans three times last week in Texas. The Mavs lost the first two games, 4-3 in overtime Wednesday and 3-1 Thursday, before beating Allen 3-1 on Friday.

Their schedule sends them back home this week, but Allen remains the opponent.

Upcoming games

Two more games against the Americans are scheduled for this week. The Mavs play host to Allen on Tuesday (Hockey Bingo Night) and Wednesday.

After those two games, the Mavericks welcome the Idaho Steelheads to Cable Dahmer Arena on Friday for ‘80s Retro Night — the first 2,000 fans at the arena in Independence will receive a retro-player Mavercks bobblehead.

The Mavs play host to the Steelheads again on Monday, Feb. 21, for a 4:05 p.m. matinee game.
