KC Mavericks update: Busy week of games culminates with ‘Star Wars Night’ on Saturday
The Mavericks played host to the Wichita Thunder last Friday and Saturday night at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.
On Friday, they beat the Thunder 4-2. On Saturday, the Thunder won 2-1. The split decision puts the Mavs at 15-15-1 in the ECHL’s Mountain Division. The Thunder are 11-16-4.

Weekend recap
After splitting the two games against the Thunder, the Mavs traveled to Tulsa on Sunday for a matinee against the Oilers. The Mavericks’ 6-1 victory was highlighted by multi-point games from seven Mavericks players.
Point streaks
Nick Pastujov is on a five-game point streak. In his last five games, he’s registered 11 points on three goals and eight assists. In 29 games to date this season, he’s tallied 34 points on 13 goals and 21 assists.
Upcoming games
The Mavericks are scheduled to play host to the Wichita Thunder at Cable Dahmer Arena again on Tuesday for Mavs Country: Liberty Night. Then they’ll travel up to Iowa to face the Heartlanders on Friday.
The Mavs’ busy week continues Saturday with a home game against the Allen Americans. It’s Star Wars Night that evening, and the first 2,000 fans to arrive will receive a light-sword courtesy of Friends of the River.
