Missouri GOP delegate says Trump has exceeded expectations in his first term

Mark Anthony Jones, a Missouri delegate to the Republican National Convention, said Wednesday he’s been impressed by the first two days of the gathering — and with President Donald Trump’s first term.

Jones has attended two previous GOP conventions, and he served four years as chair of the Jackson County Republican Party. He joined Dave Helling of The Star Editorial Board and John Holt of FOX4 News on this week’s “4Star Politics” program.

The program featured Democratic delegate Manny Abarca last week.

Jones, who was an early supporter of Trump, said the president has exceeded all of his expectations, including working for the LGBTQ community, which is one of Jones’ top priorities.

The conversation includes Jason Grill and Annie Presley, both consultants and political veterans. They discuss the conventions, strategies for both presidential campaigns, and the potential impact of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter protests on votes for president.
