Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas will likely rejoin the starting lineup in Sunday afternoon’s series finale against the White Sox, manager Ned Yost said before Friday’s game.

Moustakas has been nursing a sore right hamstring for more than a week. He has not started once this week, though he did enter Tuesday’s game as a pinch-hitter. Moustakas told Yost he feels about 90 percent on Friday, which encouraged Yost to rest him until Sunday.

“He’ll be ready to go by then,” Yost said. “He should be close to 100 (percent) (Saturday), then we’ll give him that day (off), and he’ll be ready to roll.”

With Moustakas out, the Royals have started rookie Cheslor Cuthbert the past three nights. Cuthbert hit his first career homer on Wednesday and scored two more runs in Thursday’s blowout over the Tigers.
