Royals announce procedure for buying postseason tickets

The Royals announced Friday the process for fans who wish to purchase single-game tickets to postseason games.

According to the team, fans are required to register online at royals.com/postseason for the opportunity to purchase tickets. Once a fan has registered, he or she will be eligible for tickets for the Division Series, Championship Series and the World Series.

Fans need to register just one time, and the registration time opened on Thursday.

The team will not be selling tickets at the Kauffman Stadium box office this year.

Once a fan has registered, he or she will be entered into a random drawing for the opportunity to purchase tickets, according to a release from the team. The Royals will be notify fans (via their email address provided) if they have been selected for the opportunity to purchase tickets. This notice will come 48 hours in advance of tickets going on sale for each potential series.

According to the Royals, selected registrants will have the choice of purchasing two tickets for each game throughout the series they have been chosen for, pending availability. Those who are not selected also will be notified before each series. The team has the dates registration deadlines and drawing dates at royals.com/postseason.

The Royals emphasized that ticket pricing for all playoff rounds will vary, and all prices are set in conjunction with Major League Baseball. The team also set a refund policy, which is on its website.
