Is your Saturday travel impacted by KC snow? A look at road conditions

Some roads in the Kansas City metro were covered in snow as plows made their way through frequently-traveled routes and side streets Saturday afternoon.

A traveler information map from the Missouri Department of Transportation shows major routes, including Interstates 70, 35, 435 and others still at least partially covered in snow as of 1:30 p.m.

Drivers can expect conditions to change quickly, so they should be sure they are prepared before they get out, a spokesperson with MoDOT said.

There are cameras, maps and status updates available that can give people a good sense of how the roads are on their planned route.

A camera stationed at I-35 and Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City showed snow flurries blown across the road just before 1:30 p.m. A road sign there could be seen warning drivers of snow-packed roads.
