Expect fog and drizzle on Friday in Kansas City. What about the rest of the weekend?
Kansas City will have a foggy morning with a chance of heavier rain in some parts of the metro Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
A dense fog advisory is in effect until noon, as the fog could result in low visibility and difficult driving conditions in the morning, the weather service said.
Rainfall could reach about half an inch in some parts of the metro, mostly east of Interstate 35. The most rain is likely before 4 p.m., the weather service said in its Friday morning forecast discussion.
Widespread fog is most likely before 10 a.m. Friday, though fog is still possible across eastern Kansas until noon, the weather service said.
Kansas City weekend forecast
The high is expected to be near 50 degrees on Friday. The chance of rain is around 70% with up to a quarter of an inch possible in most areas of the metro, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Friday night, the low could be around 41 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to be cloudy, but mild conditions remain with temperatures warmer than typical for this time of year, the weather service said.
On Saturday, the high is forecast to be near 54 degrees, and the overnight low could be near 38 degrees.
The high is expected to be near 53 degrees with a low near 38 degrees on Sunday.
The next chance of rain in Kansas City is on Monday, the forecast shows, when the high will reach near 55 and an overnight low will be around 34. The chance of rain is near 40%, with most of the rain likely coming before midnight.
New Year’s Eve, early 2025 temperature, weather
By the beginning of the new year, temperatures could return closer to seasonal norms, the weather service said in its weather discussion.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s on New Year’s Eve and remain there the first days of 2025, the weather service predicts.
