‘Get ready to sweat:’ Kansas City temps will hit 90 degrees ahead of possible rain

The forecast for Saturday calls for windy and much warmer weather with temperatures reaching 90 degrees, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

“Get ready to sweat tomorrow, there will be a pretty good breeze out there,” said Lauria who provides weather updates to The Star. “That would be a few degrees hotter than today.”

Dry and humid conditions will last through the afternoon and into Saturday evening. A few clouds will develop as rain and cooler temperatures are expected to arrive sometime Sunday afternoon.

“Hopefully we are going to end up with a half of an inch and more than that for areas south of Kansas City,” Lauria said. “And we need the rain desperately because if we miss out or if you don’t get much rain out of this whole thing on Sunday, it may stay dry for another week.

Some areas may receive anywhere from a quarter of an inch to about an inch.

Temperatures will be in the 70s as the rain arrives but it will get cooler at beginning of next week. Temperatures could drop into the 50s.

“With maybe some patchy frost next Friday morning,” Lauria said.
