Kansas City weather expected to be quiet, pleasant and dry for the next week

The wildfires that have ravaged millions of acres in the western United States will likely affect the visibility of the sunrise and sunset on Saturday, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.

“It is going to be at the level of the atmosphere where you see it right on the horizon,” said Frank, who provides weather updates to The Star.

Ragweed in the air could cause some unpleasantness for allergy suffers. Temperatures Friday night remain cool and calm.

“It is relatively quiet and there will be no nuisance weather whatsoever,” Frank said. “It’s really quiet and dry. I know ... people are looking for rain. We just don’t have it.”

Temperatures will remain very nice, feeling more like fall than the typical end of summer. The high should reach the 80s during the next few days. The forecast calls for the temperature to reach 81 degrees on Tuesday, the first day of fall, he said.

“That’s five degrees above average at this point, but other than that it is a quiet and dry week,” Frank said. “No rain the forecast for the next seven days.”
